Home Ownership
Public Hearings on Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act
The Federal Reserve Board has held hearings and thus has provided all of us with valuable information. We have provided this information for you so you can better understand the issues surrounding lending and home ownership. Also, it follows our rule of providing you with as much information (sometimes it's more than you want) as possible for you to make your decisions. Buying a house is a big deal and it's not the easiest decision to make.
They are titled as such:
"The Board will hold public hearings as required by the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA) to examine the home equity lending market, and to assess the effectiveness of existing regulatory and legislative provisions (including HOEPA) in protecting the interests of consumers"
We have posted the entire Transcript for those interested in learning more about Mortgages, Credit and Lending Regulations.
